You have probably heard the term organic cotton or bio cotton many times. Organic fabrics are becoming more and more popular as a conscious lifestyle and consumer awareness increase. But what is so special about it?
ORGANIC COTTON – WHAT IS IT?
Cotton is one of the most popular materials used in the clothing industry. Due to the increasing demand and growing demand for this material, producers and growers use more and more pesticides, chemicals and insecticides in their crops, which minimize their losses and allow for increased production. The substances they use are not indifferent to us and our environment. Organic cotton is obtained from organic farming, which excludes the use of toxic plant protection products and artificial fertilizers. Weeding is usually done by hand, which makes the cotton much cleaner, and mild, natural agents are used to wash it, which improves its quality. In addition, natural dyes (e.g. clay) are used during dyeing processes.
WHAT PROPERTIES DOES ORGANIC COTTON HAVE?
Organic cotton allows the skin to breathe, absorbs moisture well and has thermoregulatory properties. This material does not wear out as quickly as regular cotton. This is due, among other things, to the thickness of the fiber and other processing processes. Thanks to this, organic cotton fabrics are more durable, they do not lose their elasticity, and the process of natural stretching of the fabric occurs much slower. Bio cotton is completely airy and naturally breathes, thus protecting our body against overheating and cooling. It is completely safe for all skin and does not cause irritation, thanks to a strictly controlled production process.
